Fishing Expedition into St Joseph Bay

 with Dan & Dee

After Dan most masterfully netted the proper type of minnows, we settled in to fish--the style here is to walk out into the water with your pole and a net bag which floats and holds your live bait, as well as serving as a receptacle for your catch.  Dan seemed fond of catching catfish (released) though we did limit out on redfish.

                                                                           Visit to Apalachicola

Unfortunately, our last day in the area was a rainy one, so we decided to take a tour of Apalachicola, once the third largest port in Florida--formerly a cotton producer, then lumber.  Today it is still known for the fantastic oysters which come from the bay and are sold all over.

If any of you readers get to Apalachicola, be sure to stop for lunch or dinner at Tamara's Cafe.  We did--the food and atmosphere are wonderful with a good variety of interesting dishes.

Dinner that night was at the Sunset Coastal Grill in Port St Joe.  What a great place to continue to overdose on sea food!  We were privileged to be sharing the 38th anniversary of Dan and Dee's meeting.  They were such great hosts and we look forward to another visit before the area is overly discovered.
