During a visit to the Baracoa Library, and educational center in town, members of the Friendship Association gift strings for instruments, as well as paper for writing music

 

Our delegation attended the inauguration of a preserve in the area of La Boma, with a steep walk up to a cave which had been a sacred place for the Taino Indians, who apparently used it as a burial site.

As Len is well known in Baracoa, and a past mayor of St Augustine, he was invited to cut the ribbon.  He awaits eagerly, along with Roberto (left), the chief archeologist and another official

 

With the constant trickle of water dripping, here the Indians were able to maintain a constant supply of drinking water
