BEARS!
We viewed both black bear and brown bear (grizzlies). At a salmon stream in Kake we observed bear attempting to catch salmon. From the boat we saw a mother brown bear with FIVE cubs in tow--a rarity indeed! One morning we looked out to see a black bear swimming from the shore, in front of the boat to the opposite shore. We saw lots of bear poop but avoided any closer confrontation.
Our fearless leader prepares to lead us on shore and protect us from the bears!
